In keeping yourself versatile, young and fit, exercise is the best option.Combining exercise with proper nutrition is a well-balanced program for staying in top shape.

Almost 300,000 deaths occur in the United States a year due to inactivity and poor dietary habits. The effects of exercise on a person's physical condition have been the aim of various scientific investigations. According to statistics, 4 in every 10 adults acknowledged that during their free time, they do not perform any kind of exercise, sports or physically-challenged activities. A gigantic 75 billion dollars is the expected health care costs for 2000 in the United States due to people having sedentary lives.

The benefits of regular exercise are improved digestion and elimination, increased endurance and energy levels, promotes lean body mass while burning fat, lowers overall blood cholesterol while increasing the proportion of 'good' cholesterol, reduced stress and anxiety which are contributing factors to many illnesses and conditions. Reports also indicate that aside from the advantages it gives the body, it also benefits the mind, sharpens the mental capacity, lifts up the spirit and lessens the feeling of melancholy. Constant exercise stabilizes blood sugar levels thereby lessening the risk of diabetes, increases bone mass, lowers the risk of acquiring cancer, and enhances the body's protective system.

An unhealthy person suffers the same fate as the smoker and is more threatened than a person who has high cholesterol, high blood pressure and overweight. A lazy person although able-bodied and doesn't smoke can be outlived by a person who smokes, who is rather healthy but has high blood pressure and high cholesterol. This is in addition to what the journal elaborated.

An average health condition can be reached in only ten weeks.There are many forms of exercise including walking, bicycling, gardening, yoga, and swimming. The diversity of exercises enables you to focus on that particular part/system of your body that needs attending to. In aerobic exercise, your metabolic rate is enhanced as well as your blood circulation system.You can lower your blood pressure and strengthen your heart with just twenty minutes a day of sustained aerobic activity. Range of motion exercises keeps the body flexible by moving into different directions. Strength exercises focus on the muscles of the body.

Among the usual grounds why people do not to exercise are the lack of time, costly exercise apparatus or gym enrollment. Another is exercising outdoors with no companion or during nighttime or because of bad weather are all too risky.

You can modify your approach in planning your workout schedule at home with supplementary exercise equipments to further enjoy the benefits. Exercise equipments have a wide range of choices, there are barbells or dumbbells, step exerciser, floor peddlers, balance balls and trainers, and yoga paraphernalia.
